RedPost’s on the map!

July 15th, 2010

The only map that matters anymore, Google Maps: And BetterWorld Books isn’t listed, until you zoom in further, and then it’s listed at a different location (RedPost’s World HQ is inside the bookstore). Weird. I’d imagine there are more Google searches for them then for us…

Chicago, Day Two(ish)

April 6th, 2010

Today, we created a RedPost “coverage map” of the City. Look for the blue highlighted area (that’s Wicker Park/Bucktown); we’ve got lots of city to go! Also, as we were commenting about how cheap we are for piecing together a map out of printed paper instead of getting it printed at Staples, the lights flickered [...]

Chicago, Day One(ish)

April 5th, 2010

Not exactly day one, as we’ve been working in Chicago for about 2 years, but day one for our new office here. Here’s the progression: 2 hour packing and load-up at our Goshen World Headquarters: 2 hour drive to Chicago to our new space: 10 minute load-in: 30 minute setup: RedPost’s new Director of Sales, [...]

Recycling day at RedPost

March 10th, 2010

Yesterday was recycling day here at RedPost, with ADEC coming to pick up our e-waste and BetterWorld Books emptying out our book recycling bin we host. ADEC picked up 7 CPUs, 12 TVs, 22 CRTs, 24 printers, 10 VCR/DVD players/stereos, 3 microwaves and a host of other electronics. BetterWorld Books collected well over 100 books [...]

Donate books…on the go!

February 12th, 2010

There’s now a nice, shiny, new book donation drop-off bin right outside RedPost’s production facility here in Goshen. Donations go to BetterWorld Books, a for-profit social enterprise with proceeds going to local, national and international literacy efforts all over the world. Check it out:

Storefront LCDs

August 27th, 2009

We’re testing out a nice, new high brightness 32″ sunlight-readable LCD on demo from Landmark Technology, Inc. Here’s a photo from the front of BetterWorld Books, the bookstore we’re located in here in Goshen: The screen has a nice auto-dimming feature, so at night, it’s not glaringly bright. However, we still have a major glare [...]

Mystery Meeting

August 20th, 2009

I had a substantial meeting in this building today in Chicago that went quite well. The pilot program for this project is now set to launch mid-September, after almost 2 years in the works. I am, if nothing else, a patient person. Bonus points if you can identify the building.

HP helps RedPost test the effectiveness of in-store digital signs

June 25th, 2009

We’ve got a new friend visiting us at RedPost World HQ for the next month or so: It’s an HP LD4200 LCD (specs) built for use as a digital sign. High brightness, 1920×1080 full HD resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio — a really nice display. We’re going to be doing some fairly unscientific market research with [...]

RedPost World HQ 4.0

April 3rd, 2009

This week, we moved into our new world headquarters, conveniently located right below our old office headquarters. Our shop remains where it is. Why the move? Well, to survive the current downturn, we’ve had to make some hard decisions and scale back a bit here at RedPost. We’ve cut staff time and downsized the office [...]

Board of Zoning Appeals

March 26th, 2009

RedPost was in front of the local Board of Zoning Appeals this past Tuesday afternoon for a variance request to do our light assembly work in the building we’ve been doing it in for the past almost 2 years. From the Goshen News: Following the church variance vote, board members heard a variance request from [...]
