It’s an Intel board, fanless, low-power, can have more memory and overall performs much better. We’re also working on a smaller device, which I can’t discuss to much yet at this point.

Here’s a screenshot of an IM conversation I had with Missy, one of the employees at BetterWorld Books’ retail store in Goshen, discussing their RedPost/Sign which we just recently moved to a more visible location right by the cash register: Missy’s been working on making new, simple posters to attract attention to their new bargain [...]

The newly-re-opened Filter coffee shop, located in Wicker Park, now has their very own RedPost/Sign as a part of the Wicker Park Bucktown network of signs. It’s the first Sign we’ve mounted on cement board; did I mention the inside of Filter has an amazing, modern-ish design with lots of different materials and looks awesome? [...]

I’m sitting at the Electric Brew, where the first RedPost ever installed anywhere lives, and I just overheard this from an older gentleman having coffee with his wife: “Just a second honey I’m going to go check out that RedPost to see what’s going on this weekend.” Music to my ears!

RedPost is now starting to sell LCD mounts designed and manufactured locally by MOR/ryde (check out their product line here), who builds several components we use, including our custom-designed Sign/Post. These are great mounts — rock solid, high quality, much better than a lot of the cheap crap coming out of China nowadays. Here’s a [...]

Today, Firefox 3.6 came out. And with it…functional full screen mode for the Mac! That means you can now run RedPost on a Mac Mini without having an annoying toolbar at the top of the screen like there’s been up until now. Sweet! No more second-class citizenship for DIY RedPost/Mac users. Isn’t equality grand? We’ve [...]

I’ve been reading several of MediaPost’s e-newsletters for about a year and a half now, my favorite being their Online Media Daily – Section 2, and to my surprise this just popped into my inbox, courtesy of Google Alerts: Two of the sweet spots for digital out-of-home advertising are convenience and distraction — using technology [...]

A woman walked into BetterWorld Books yesterday as I was standing by the counter. Another customer was at the register so the woman looked at the RedPost/Sign on display by the register. Then, when the register opened up, she said, “Oh, I was going to ask about book recycling but I just saw the answer [...]
