Today we swung by the studio of Doejo, a Chicago-based web-design firm, for a quick introductory chat/rapid-fire brainstorming session. Their office was outfitted by RedPost’s new Chicago landlord, Sharchitecture (check out the sweet woodwork in the photo, photo from Flickr user AndersP). They have an impressive portfolio and were even kind enough as to post [...]

I’m on my way to Digital Signage Expo this week and spent the weekend with friends in LA. This digital sign was in an LA Metro station. I’ve always thought the Windows notification system was a pretty crappy, inconsistent way to deliver information to a user. Those little bubble things are more annoying than helpful, [...]

Although I won’t be joining my family this year (I was there last year), my grandparents have once again traveled to McAllen, Texas, joined by various aunts, uncles and cousins, to build houses with Proyecto Azteca. The local news picked up on the story, check out the TV coverage and this article: Like modern-day heroes [...]

As you’re probably aware, there was a major earthquake in Haiti. I was in the country for a couple days back in 2005, and walked around the square in front of the Presidential Palace (the triangular green area the top of the photo, photo from GeoEye): So for me, one of the most shocking images, [...]

This picture is from a display hidden way up on the third floor in the corner of the Indian Steps Museum in York County, PA, where I went with my sisters and dad this past weekend. It’s a great museum, chock full of an eccentric collection of Native American artifacts and stories, definitely worth a [...]

Today begins installation of our first big-city RedPost installation in the Wicker Park Bucktown neighborhood in Chicago. It’s been over 2 years in the works. Some pics before we hit the road: Our nice KIA rental, 28 MPG! Smaller than I thought a “midsize SUV” would be. Too bad that’s our old logo… And I [...]

RedPost/Recycle, which is currently closed due to being too successful, taking too much electronics and not having a sustainable funding mechanism, is maybe this to-rename-unnamed facility in Columbus, Ohio, which I scoped out this week? It remains to be seen. If it does happen, we’d be able to offer free recycling through a local non-profit [...]

I was critiqued today for blogging less in the last month or so. It’s just been busy around these here parts! So I’m not sorry, but I do apologize. I’m taking a two-day trip through Ohio and back to Goshen this week, part of my fall o’ travel now that we’re busy. (photo credit: James [...]

I had a substantial meeting in this building today in Chicago that went quite well. The pilot program for this project is now set to launch mid-September, after almost 2 years in the works. I am, if nothing else, a patient person. Bonus points if you can identify the building.

This Sign, sponsored by RedPost at the Mennonite Church USA conference which wrapped up yesterday in Columbus, OH, was located outside the mPress office where they published a daily conference newspaper. They used the Sign to display the headlines for that day and attract the attention of passers-by. Here are some photos and a couple [...]
