App update

December 9th, 2009

We just deployed a bunch of changes and fixes to the app, including:

New top bar — no more big grey sliding down thingy, includes an updated my account area and pop-up menus for Advertise and My Neighborhoods. Overall, it takes up less space, works better, and looks nicer.
Design tweaks: fixed some minor issues with the [...]

Wicker updated for fit-PC2

November 12th, 2009

Today (er, late last night) we publicly released the latest version of Wicker, our Ubuntu-based operating system that runs on every RedPost/Sign. This version is now compatible with theĀ fit-PC2 and includes the following updates:

8.04 security updates (we’re still on 8.04 as that’s what the fit-PC2 supports)
re-worked kernel for compatability with fit-PC2, including SMP support, upgraded [...]

November 6th, 2009

Finally, after a slight delay brought about by a global financial crisis, RedPost today is announcing our new commercial leasing program. We’ve found a great partner in TriLease Corp, a Raleigh, NC-based company with over 10 years experience with a wide variety of assets (from software to recycling systems) and companies, from corporations to non-profits.

Advertise: this page shows off our three ad networks, two here in Goshen and one in Chicago — we’ve gotten [...]

May 21st, 2009

If you have your own RedPost neighborhood, when you log into your neighborhood you’ll now see an Apps tab:

A lot of our users don’t know about our apps, of which we currently have 3, Alert, Campus and Promote, we haven’t done a good job of promoting them. This is our first attempt at better promoting [...]

Next Wednesday, May 13, 2009, we will be deploying our new billing system. You will most likely see few changes — most of the improvements are on the backend and prepare us for handling a higher volume of accounts with new [...]

Upgrade joyfulness continues

April 10th, 2009

More bug fixes and improvements:

We re-arranged the Promote layout to better match the rest of our software, also fixed some CSS problems with IE (when will Microsoft get it right?? IE 8? Let’s hope so)
multi-image upload now works again (the new Flash 10 had been causing some issues)
functional tests, unit tests, oh-so-many-tests (these help prevent [...]

More Upgrade Joyfulness

April 1st, 2009

Following on the heels of our app upgrade two weeks ago, we’ve fixed some bugs and continued to make improvements.

RedPost/Goshen (what we call Promote) Mac Dashboard widget is working again (sorry, you’ll have to download the new one here)
Promote pages now include a widget in the upper left of the currently running ads…not sure why [...]

RedPost Upgrades, Digital Signs Rejoice

March 17th, 2009

After a delay of about 24 hours and a bit of pain, including the loss of 4 users’ updates from a 24 hour period, we finished deploying the freshest, mature-ist, rosiest, (cheekiest?) version of RedPost yet this morning around 4 am, recorded for posterity by a well-deserved tweet.
Improvements/Bug fixes:

under-the-hood overhaul: much like rebuilding a car’s [...]
