RedPost/______ Day 2: Stand? Post?

Thanks for everyone who commented yesterday. Today, we just received the second protoype of our stand, which is now production-ready. But what should we call it? The RedPost/Stand? RedPost/Post? The Post? Sign/Post?

It weighs 13 pounds, is 5′ tall, black (custom colors available), ships in 3 pieces which assemble in under 5 minutes, has standard VESA mount holes, and has a channel for running the cord down through the post. Price: $99.

Here’s a drawing (we’ve made some changes since this proto, but it’s close to the final):

Here’s a video of a Sign on a Stand (if that’s what we call it), playing content from our RedPost/GawkerArtists demo:

And a photo:

Somebody suggested we get them in red, since our company is called RedPost. But I think that would distract too much from the Signs themselves.

  • Have you tried a red post? I wonder if it might actually draw more attention to the sign rather than distract from it.
  • we haven't...it seems cliche though and i agree with your comment in that i've been afraid it would distract from the sign...but people keep asking why the posts aren't red. so...i guess we just need to try it and see!
  • np, forciare, i deleted your extra comments. disqus is a little quirky, but overall, i really like it. interesting idea though, switching from the slash ( / ) to the pipe ( | ) in our product names...

How about some font play to help brand the screen logo?

    [ Sign ] [ Sign | Box ] [ Sign | Post ]

Sorry about the extra posts down below. I didn't know that hitting the space bar while I typed would repeat my post over and over again. I edited out the repeated post comments.... too bad that I couldn't delete the posts themselves.

  • Hmmm...what about RedPost/Sign, Sign/Box and Sign/Post? Too many /'s? I kinda like Sign/Post too...

I like Sign/Post but maybe the Redpost/ is now a prerequisite. Shame because Sign/Post is nice.
