RedPost/_______ (it’s a Sign without the LCD…what should we call it?)

This is our new RedPost/______, same specs as the Sign just without the LCD. It’ll let you connect any monitor/LCD/Plasma/TV to our software. VGA output (s-video and composite video ports are there, we haven’t worked out the Linux drivers, yet), 1GB memory, boots from a 2GB flash drive, built-in wifi, Via 1.5GHz C7 processor, built-in power supply (no wall wart). Here’s a 3D PDF, here’s a pic:

Dimensions are 10.5″ wide x 8.75″ long x 2.25″ tall. It’ll retail at $399. Shipping early October, at the latest. In red or black, I haven’t decided yet.

Also, what should we call it? The Box? MiniPC? RedPost/Mini? Sign/Mini? SignPost? Post? Little Red? MiniRed? Red(mini)?

    when i hear 'box' i think of the LCD display case itself and not a device that connects to the LCD's. How about redpost/switch? hmm...too generic perhaps.... redpost/little red would be hilarious, but great.

    as for colors, i would agree with foricare about black, but perhaps with the red box logo somewhere on it in red.
  • Wow, the case looks super tight. I betcha Apple wouldn't appreciate the RedPost/mini though. I do like Ross's suggestion for RedPost/Box.

    I agree with Ross. Although I would go one step further and add "sign". So my final idea for it would be Redpost Sign Box (with box taking on the characteristics of the way you list "beta" in "Sign Beta").

    I vote for black to be the color, it usually blends in with most decors.

    I vote for RedPost/Mini. The reason is that you want to build/maintain your identify as RedPost, but you are adding a branch to that identity. You do not want to have competing identities, but one identity with growing edges.

    Mini is not so essential -- that word could be different. But Redpost is essential.

    For the cause!

    How about just Redpost/Box? That way usage is 'let's just install a redpost box.'
