Adventures in spray foam
I spent the weekend installing insulation and doing general reorganizing/make the office look nice stuff. Then this afternoon I discovered that the large windows we have all have a 1/2″ gap at the top and 1/4″ gap at the sides…that’s just open to the outside. D’oh.
So I used up the rest of my spray foam (I hate the stuff…it gets on your hands, doesn’t come off and kills too many brain cells) and had to run to the home improvement store to get some more. While there, one of the workers looked at me funny and said “You need to check your head.” I thought to myself “What is he talking about? My head is fine.” I reach up, pull off a big chunk o’ foam. I proceeded to peel off a bunch more. It was fairly amusing.
All the windows are sealed up now…but the furnace still can’t get the room over 61°. It’s not even really cold yet (“really cold” = below 0°F). Hmmm.
