New blog in the blogroll, not that anyone looks at blogrolls
My friend Anthony just added pointed me to Marc Andreessen’s nine week old blog, pmarca. It’s really, really interesting. I spent way too much time there today — his perspective and insight are very much in-line with mine and his posts are long, which usually means I don’t read them, except that his I actually read. I thought he was mainly a lucky nerd who struck it rich, but turns out he’s so much more than that. And now he’s a mentor of mine and he doesn’t even know it.
From one of my favorite posts of his:
…I should have started doing this years and years ago.
Anyone who says blogs are not widely read is incorrect. I have been absolutely amazed at the range and diversity of the people who have been reading this blog, and so quickly.
It is crystal clear to me now that at least in industries where lots of people are online, blogging is the single best way to communicate and interact.
I missed this early on, but I certainly get it now.
Somehow I love hearing from a multi-baziollionaire about a tech trend he missed. It makes me feel like I have a chance to innovate at the same level that Marc is at. I started blogging a good 4 months before him!
