American households watch 3 hrs more TV a day than any other nation on earth

We watch just over 8 hrs per household per day. Sheez, and I thought TV was dying a slow painful death. Turkey’s the next closest at 5 hrs/day, with Italy next at 4. Source: The Economist by way of Treehugger

  • I know seriously. It's for the entire household, and the average household in the U.S. is 2.6 people, so that's 3.07 hours per person. Still ridiculous.

    How on earth would anyone be able to find 8 hours a day to watch TV unless they were unemployed?
    I barely find enough hours in the day to sleep, TV is a luxury.
